In the Sikhs regime, Main Jamia Masjid built in Shah Jahan’s region was converted into a stable. The workers of the Anjuman got it freed from non-Muslim’s sway. Millions were spent on its extension and renovation. The construction of a 110 feet tall minarat was made possible only because of the sincere efforts of Mian Ghulam Rasool (Late)-former Nazim-e-Aaala (Chief Administrator) and financial assistance of S.H. Hashmi (Late) (Orient Advertising). Deterioration of ceilins and cracks in walls appeared due to ups and downs of times especially after the severe earthquake of October, 2005. So it was decided to reconstruction it at the cost of 20 million. In 2007, the reconstruction was inaugurated by Sayed Anwar Shah Nafees-ul-Hussaini (Late) with the special funding of Sheikh Zahid Hussain Talwar.
Further, the Anjuman looks after and manages to the up keeping of the central Eid Gah situated on the Pattan Road. For religious education, an institution by the name of Jamia Arabia Khair-ul-Aloom is established. Other than the strength for Hifzo-o-Nazra of the Quran, there are 350 students enrolled. Along with the boarding and messing, monthly stipend is given to the students coming form outer city is also responsibility of the institution. Mr. Muhammad Zafar Wadhawan donates wheat and ghee (eatable oil) through out the year. Other than Hifzo-o-Nazra of the Quran, a special attention is paid on mental and moral development for character building. Up to now, hundreds of students who successfully completed their education from her are serving the Quran inland and abroad. Every year in Ramdhan, the majority of the Quran readers in Namaz-e-Tarawih in the mosques of the city and suburbans are linked with this Jamia.
PREACHING:
Propagation of monotherism (oneness of Allah), strengthing of the belief in the finality of Prophet hood (Khatm-e-Nabuwat), reformation and preaching of Islamic values are the backbone of the objectives and manifesto of the Anjuman. Thus the organization annually arranges congregations and distinguished scholars and intellectuals are invited on the occasion to make known the common public about the issues related to God and Man. Mahfil-e-Hamd-o-Naat is regularly being organized since the last decade. A lot of people of far-flung areas participate in these Mehfils for their spiritual satisfaction. Gold medals and special prizes are awarded to the best Na’t Khawans (Na’t Singers) every year.
